Jessica and Liam's wedding isn't until next year but that doesn't mean we couldn't do an engagement session this summer, which is exactly what we did! The day before our shoot, Jessica decided they wanted to use Mission Marsh as the location instead of Centennial Park, and I couldn't have been happier. There is nothing wrong with Centennial Park but I have already had a few sessions this year over the past few weeks, so a new location was more then welcome.
As first, both Jessica and Liam were a bit nervous for the shoot but that quickly went away and they ended up being complete naturals in front of the camera. They took my direction well and were more then capable of doing their own thing as well, which provided a healthy dose of candid photography.
It helped that the weather held up and Mission Marsh is one of my favourite locations in town for portraits. It's a relatively small area but there are a lot of great spots to use if you know where to look.
Jessica and Liam also agreed to let me know film a little bit of video of them as well. This is new for me and something I have spend the last couple months developing my skills in. I didn't want to take up much of their time but we did set aside about 20 minutes at the end of the session. You can view that video below by click on the link. I really hope to do a lot more of these short cinematic videos in the near future. So stay tuned for that!
Thanks as always to Jessica and Liam for a very fun and intimate engagement session. I just love how the photos turned out.
