Kaylin and Adams' wedding day took place on one of the hottest days of the year, but I enjoyed every single minute of it. They did their first look at the home they were staying at while in town. Right after, they exchanged their very heartfelt and emotional vows. It was then back to the main property where they sealed those vows in a small, and intimate ceremony with their closest family and friends.

Kaylin and Adam are getting married next year but I was lucky enough to get them out for an engagement session this past weekend at Trowbridge Falls. I absolutely love meeting couples, and especially photographing them, before their actual wedding.

As I have mentioned in previous blog posts I always enjoy portraits sessions where family is involved. This time around it was with my niece Brittney, her husband Adam and the rest of their family. We decided on Hillcrest Park later in the evening and we couldn't have asked for a better day for portraits. The weather was perfect and the sun slowly setting in the sky, so the lighting was ideal.

I always enjoy photographing my niece Brittney and her family. This time around we chose the Cascades as the location for our session and it turned out being perfect weather. It was also a special occasion, as Brittney is due in the coming weeks with her third child. So she also wanted a few maternity photos as well.
As soon as we arrived, Chase and Kayden were off to the races, running around. I'm used to it though, as it is consistent with what they normally do each session .. which I love by the way. I would much rather have that energy then them just sitting there looking at me.

When my niece Brittney asked me to photograph her and Adam's wedding I obviously said yes. After all, how often will I get to photograph a family member's wedding. Plus, it also meant I would be surrounded by a lot of family which would make the day that much more fun, and relaxed. My day began at the ceremony which took place at Lakeview Presbyterian Church.
As guests arrived I walked around and got my usual candid photos and then before I knew it the ceremony was set to begin. Shooting in a dark church can often be a bit of a challenge but this church actually had fairly good lighting. I was sure to stay behind the scenes and keep it discreet all while getting some good natural moments of Brittney and Adam, as well as the guests and wedding party.

Well, it was too long ago that I photographed Brittney and her family. During that shoot, it was a reveal that she was pregnant. We had a great time. If you would like to check that session out, here you go. This time around Brittney is just about ready to bring a new addition to the family. Before it was too late, we decided to get some 'maternity' photos outdoors, at the Marina again. We both thought it was a fitting location, seeing as how thats' where she first announced it.

It's always fun when I get the chance to photograph family. This time around I had a portrait session with Brittney, Adam and of course Chase, who is growing up way to fast. I had photographed Adam and Brittney earlier in the year for their engagement photos. This time around we did the entire family. The other reason for this session was to celebrate and reveal the fact that they Brittney and Adam are expecting another addition to the family.

Once I heard my niece Brittney got engaged I hoped she called upon me to shoot their engagement photos. Luckily she did! I always find it very fun and rewarding to photograph family members. Plus, it's usually a laid back and easy going session. This one was no different, and the location in this case was the Cascades Provincial Park in Thunder Bay.

When Stacy and Adam’s photographer decided to not shoot their wedding they asked me to do it as a favour. Well, since we were going to the wedding anyways, I jumped at the chance to also be the photographer. The other reason I was extremely excited was because I had never been to Lutsen Resort and I had heard that it is supposed to be beautiful.
