As I mentioned in my previous post at Centennial, I got the chance to head out on our first official snowfall of the season. Seeing as how it was still early when I left the park I decided to head on over to the Marina. I was initially planning to just take a couple shots of the Sleeping Giant but I ended up walking around for about 45 minutes. Good thing I did as I came away with some great shots.
I guess you could say the theme of this photo shoot was birds. There were a lot of them flying around that morning. Not only seagulls but also a lot of geese. I'm guessing they were getting ready to fly south. The one thing I love about shooting in the winter is the cool and muted colour palette. I'm all for colour but it's a nice change to work with soft tones. You could really tell from the photos below that it was a grey snowy morning.
With the Marina it's hard not to just take a bunch of photographs of the Sleeping Giant. That's easy. What's hard is finding different compositions and angles to work with. Each time I go there I try to do this. I might not always succeed but when I do it's completely worth it. Now I just have to try and print some of these photos one of these days.
