ONWA Poetry Night - Strong Hands Stop Violence
This past Sunday ONWA held a very special poetry night in an effort to raise awareness of Violence Against Women in support of the United Nations International Day of Elimination of Violence Against Women. ONWA Family Portraits - Session 3
This past week I was hired to do my third photo session at ONWA. For those that don’t know what ONWA is, I encourage you visit the website to learn more. It is a not for profit organization that was established in 1972 to empower and support Aboriginal women and their families throughout the province of Ontario. I really do like these sessions because it gives me a chance to photograph some wonderful families who might not otherwise hire a photographer to get their portraits done.

When I was first asked to photograph families for ONWA, I really didn't know what to expect. Mainly because I really didn't fully understand what ONWA was. Once I did a bit of research, I couldn't wait to get in front of all the families and start taking photos. Not only was it for a good cause but I knew it would end up being a lot of fun.
