I am planning to run an ugly sweater portrait special very soon so what better way to get some promo photos for it then to ask our close friends Amanda and Serge and of course Norah to model for me. I have photographed them outside a few times so this was the first time I was able to get them into the studio. Norah was ready to go from the beginning. Every now and then I give away free portrait session at Shags of wedding couples I am eventually photographing. Well, Amanda won a session and decided to take me up on my offer. Amanda + Serge Family Portraits - Centennial Park
Centennial Park was the location for my latest portrait session with Amanda, Serge and their daughter Norah. They are friends of the family, so anytime I get to spend an hour with people I know, it's an added bonus. As soon as I arrived little Norah showed us where to go, and that ended up being the playground, of course. We kind of just let her roam around with some gentle guidance here and there. She was actually really great all the way through, stopping and posing for a few seconds when we asked her.

Amanda + Serge Wedding - Vickers Park
The weather in Thunder Bay this summer has been pretty unpredictable so when I saw that it was calling for rain the day Amanda and Serge were getting married I had my fingers crossed. Well... it ended up being completely sunny and very hot and humid. It ended up being the perfect day for a wedding. My day started at the ceremony which was held at Vickers Park. I had done plenty of portrait sessions at this location but this was my first wedding, and boy was it a very nice one.

My latest portrait session was one of the most interesting ones of the season. It was another large family shoot with even more kids this time and even more energy! Sometimes I wish I could watch my shoots afterwards and see just how much running around I did. I’ll never complain though as the photos when you are on the go often turn into some of the best candid photos.
