Kristi + Family Portraits

It seems as though summer took forever to get here and who knows how long this hot weather is going to last. So, Krisi and her whole family took advantage and we had a wonderful photo session at Centennial Park. Even at 6:30 it was still quite hot but we managed to bear the heat, find some shade and come away with some truly fun and candid photos.

ONWA Family Portraits - Session 3

This past week I was hired to do my third photo session at ONWA. For those that don’t know what ONWA is, I encourage you visit the website to learn more. It is a not for profit organization that was established in 1972 to empower and support Aboriginal women and their families throughout the province of Ontario. I really do like these sessions because it gives me a chance to photograph some wonderful families who might not otherwise hire a photographer to get their portraits done.

Carol + Family Portraits

My second session of the day took place at Mission Marsh. I had a couple wedding portrait sessions here earlier in the year but that was well over 2 months ago. I was hoping for more leaves on the trees, which there weren’t, but everything else was a nice golden brown which made for some great photos. It was a completely different feel from my earlier session but that is what makes every location in this city unique!

Amy + Family Portraits

With the Fall weather slowly going away it’s getting harder and harder find colourful spots throughout the city. But, if you like hard enough, there is still plenty of colour left. For my latest portrait session with Amy and her family we were originally going to go to Boulevard, instead though, we ended up just down the street where there were plenty of leaves and fall colours!

Heather + Family Portraits

A couple years ago I had the pleasure to photograph Heather and her family out at their house in the country. This time around it was the same location but there was another addition to the family. As soon as I got there it was like working with 3 professional models. The instant I pointed my camera at the boys they would strike a pose. It’s like they have been practicing the past 2 years!

Anne + Family Portraits

It was time for yet another Fall Portrait session. The location this time around was just outside of town on Mountain Road. The weather was fantastic although it was a bit chilly. The important thing was that there was still some fall colours lingering around. Once I arrived at Anne’s house, the kids quickly got ready and then it was off to a nearby trail which I have never been down before.

I always find it amazing how many unique photos you can get from one simple location. We spent about 40 minutes on the trail. I mixed some ‘posed’ photos in with some of my usual candid ones. It’s really easy to take candid photos when you have kids in the picture. This photo shoot was no exception. Some of the best photos of the day were simple candid photos.

We finished off the day back at the house. Photographing right at the family’s home is a really great way to get genuine photos. As you can see from some of the photos below I was able to capture some superb moments. Thanks as always to Anne and her whole family for letting me into their lives for one brief hour!

Leah + Family Portraits

Centennial Park was the setting for my most recent photo session. Leah, Stephen and their family decided to take take advantage of my Fall Portrait Special. They were leaving to fly back to Vancouver the next day so everyone was hoping for a good day of weather. We got what we wished for because it was cool, cloudy and most importantly, it didn’t rain!

Toby + Family Portraits

As I mentioned in my previous post, I had two sessions at Centennial Park this past weekend. This was the second one and it was just as fun and spontaneous. Even though it was the same location, the photos were completely different! We really took advantage of the fall colours and leaves. Mainly because Grace was such a great sport. She pretty much stayed where she was put and smiled and played for the camera. I couldn’t have asked for a better model.
